    1. I was first introduced to Maynard Ferguson in 1972 by Ronnie Drum, a trumpet player and band leader himself, as well as a mentor of mine. Give It One has always been one of my favorites. The dude was phenomenal. I’m sure he inspired the likes of Bill Chase, Lin Biviano, and a whole host of other high note trumpeter. Including me. But I chose to go a different route because good trumpet players are a dime a dozen. I do miss it. But I have the music to listen to and wonder what could have been if only…
