We’ve been thinking of moving to Word Press from our old blogspot format as many have said how much more user friendly it is. So here we are. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
Rational Nation USA hopes that with a move a fresh start will follow. Honest constructive discussion about honest differences in views is healthy and encouraged. After all isn’t that how once compromise occurs things move forward?
Since the election of Donald J. Trump to the presidency the acrimony between conservatives and liberals have reached a level seldom if ever seen in the last 77 years. With so much, for the lack of a better word, malevolence it is unlikely common ground can be found.
It is the hope of this site that discussion aimed at finding a mutual understanding and some common ground can be found. We believe it possible if labels and extreme partisanship is left at the door.
By way of this introductory page we are putting would be trolls on notice. You will not be welcome if your purpose is to attempt to derail discussion on the topic of the post, disrupt, demean, or impugn the reputation of another commenter. All such comments Will Be Deleted Immediately Upon Detection. Respectful animated disagreement that is relative post content is fine. In so long as it is respectful and courteous.
On another note, intended to be informative and set the record straight. This site, as a result of the extreme rightward shift in the republican party over the last 17 years has moved left. Distancing itself from the extreme and often dishonest agenda was necessary to preserve sanity.
Haven’t been on a Word Press site for years. Just checking in to see if it works.
It works just fine. Actually I’m still playing with it and hopefully I’ll be able to make it better. As well as a site where folks are willing to visit and actually discuss rather than, well you know.

Yeah, I’m going to get a Gravatar (sp) account at some point and I think I’ll be able to use a real mug shot of myself.
An face unfamiliar to me has shown up in the news: Steven Miller, a
Trump spokesman of considerable arrogance: “Our opponents, the media and the whole world will soon see as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the president to protect our country are very substantial and will not be questioned”. Typical of the sinister
types that wander the WH halls, he polished his trade under that great
(and hillariouly quotable) congresswoman Michelle Bachman.
The post above addresses this very issue.BB. America s trending ever closer to authoritarian leadership. Republicans and conservatives/reactionaries are responsible for this.

I actually like Word Press in many ways and Jetpack gives you great site stats. It takes a bit of getting used to but the upside is by far eater than the few disadvantages. In summary Blogger compaed to Word Press sucks IMO.
Is there supposed to be a sidebar? There was one the first time I was here, now it’s gone. Also the post and comments scroll up into the header. Looks a mess to me. Although maybe it’s my browser. Chrome tells me it won’t update because they’ve dropped support for my OS.
